XII Põhjamaade Mullazooloogide sümpoosion

TTÜ Tartu Kolledž korraldab 28.-31. august Tartu Dorpati konverentsikeskuses XII Põhjamaade Mullazooloogide sümpoosioni
Mullazooloogide sümpoosion toimub iga paari aasta tagant, käesolev kannab järjekorranumbrit kaksteist ning esmakordselt viiakse see läbi Eestis. Üritusel osaleb ligi 60 osavõtjat Põhja- ja Baltimaadest ning Venemaalt.
Sümpoosioni üks korraldajaid, TTÜ Tartu Kolledži professor Mari Ivask: „Mullaelustikukooslused elavad varjatult muldkeskkonnas, kuid neil on oluline osa lagunemises ning teistes enamikes maismaaökosüsteemides toimuvates protsessides, samas on nad inimtegevuse poolt kergesti haavatavad.” Professor Ivaski sõnul käsitlevad sümpoosioni ettekanded mullaelustike ruumilist levikut, mullafauna ökoloogilise uurimise rakenduslikke aspekte ning elupaikade mõju koosluste struktuurile. Tähelepanu all on metsa- ja põllumuldade elustik, arktiliste piirkondade mullaselgrootud ning keskkonnamuutuste mõju mullaelustikule. Sümpoosionil on kaasatud ka erinevate maade doktorandid, kes osalevad seminaride töös ning esinevad ettekannetega.
